“Education is all a matter of building bridges.”
–Ralph Ellison
A little about me...
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where I spent weekends on the banks of many rivers making mudpies with my sister while my dad was fishing. My dream to become a teacher started early on in life, inspired by my grandmother who dedicated her life to education.
I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon with a degree in English. After taking a couple years off to save money and care for my family, I pursued my graduate degree, earning my Masters of Education from Portland State University. I am a licensed as both a general and special educator.
I believe that all students have a right to their education. As a teacher, it is my goal to provide equitable resources and support to all my students. I aim to equip students with the critical thinking skills and academic tools necessary to fully participate competitively in the real world after high school.
Outside of school, I spend time adventuring with and caring for my husband and two sons, ages 3 and 5 as of the 2020-21 school year.
